Companies that embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion attract top talent, boost employee and customer satisfaction, and improve decision-making. Despite this, veterinary medicine remains one of the least diverse professions in the U.S. in 2024, highlighting the need for change. Veterinary professionals have the power to influence minority populations, starting as early as elementary school, through mentorship and partnership. Academic institutions can also prioritize DEI in their curricula to better prepare future professionals. This course explores the importance of DEIB in creating a workplace culture of respect, understanding, and collaboration. You'll gain leadership tools to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, contributing to organizational success and fulfilling the human need to belong.
